It is practiced in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and the Maldives and is applied during special occasions like weddings and religious festivals. Mehndi art is often referred to as henna tattoos even though the the pigments applied are temporary. You can see some beautiful lines, shapes and patterns used in the mehndi art.
